The 9 Best Mini Dishwashers of 2026: Portable Countertop Picks for Small Kitchens
No-hookup tank models and 6-place faucet models compared on real capacity, plate size, clearance and clean-up — so you buy the one that actually fits your counter and your plates.
A mini dishwasher is a small dishwasher machine that sits on the counter and washes, rinses and dries a few people’s worth of dishes — no renovation, and with most models, no plumbing at all. Fill the built-in tank, press start.
We compared nine, from no-hookup tank models for one or two people to 6-place faucet models for a small family, to find the best mini countertop dishwasher for every kind of small kitchen. In a hurry:
Countertop, Portable or Built-In: Which Mini Dishwasher Do You Need?
You will see them sold as mini dishwashers, tiny dishwashers, tabletop and benchtop dishwashers, compact dishwashers, small dish washers and mini dishwasher machines. Underneath the names, there are four kinds, and picking the wrong one is the most common reason people send them back.
And the little turbine “dishwashers” you drop in a sink? Those palm-sized gadgets stick to the bottom of a sink or bucket with suction cups and swirl the water around. They do not heat the water, spray, rinse or dry, so they are not a replacement for any machine on this list.

The 9 Best Portable Countertop Dishwashers on Amazon, Compared

COMFEE’ Countertop Dishwasher with 6L Built-in Water Tank
- 6 L tank or faucet
- Fits 10.5 in plates
- 192°F hygiene wash
- Auto-open drying
- $$
The mini dishwasher an independent test kitchen picked as its best small countertop model, praising how well it cleaned. It has the biggest tank on this list at 6 liters, and its Hygiene cycle reaches 192°F, the hottest here, for greasy pans and baby bottles.
When the cycle ends the door pops open on its own and a small fan pushes the steam out, so dishes come out dry instead of sitting in a sauna. There is also a viewing window, a child lock, leak protection and a UV hygiene program, and COMFEE says a normal cycle uses 6 liters of water.

AIRMSEN Portable Countertop Dishwasher, No Hookup Needed
- 5 L tank or faucet
- Fits 12 in plates (angled)
- 14 spray nozzles
- 1-year warranty
- $$
The highest-rated mini dishwasher on this list, at 4.6 stars across more than 1,600 reviews. Fourteen nozzles on the upper and lower spray arms and a 167°F wash handle the usual countertop jobs, from cereal bowls to baby bottles.
It fits dinner plates up to 12 inches if you load them at a slight angle, which plenty of mini dishwashers cannot. A glass door with an LED light lets you watch it work, and an extra hour of hot-air drying plus 72 hours of airflow keeps clean dishes fresh if you do not unload straight away.

BLACK+DECKER BCD6W Compact Countertop Dishwasher
- Faucet quick connect
- 6 place settings
- Energy Star certified
- 24-hour delay start
- $$
The pick for a small family or anyone who cooks every day. An independent test kitchen named it the best large countertop dishwasher, found it quiet, and noted that it cleaned well as long as it was not overpacked. It is Energy Star certified and has a stainless steel tub.
Seven cycles cover everything from a soak to a 90-minute wash, and you can delay the start by up to 24 hours to run it overnight. There is no tank: a quick-connect hose clips onto your faucet when you run it and comes off when you are done, and the whole machine stores in a cupboard or pantry between uses.

EUHOMY Countertop Dishwasher
- 5 L tank or faucet
- Fits 10.25 in plates
- 29-minute fast cycle
- ETL & DOE certified
- $
The best affordable countertop dishwasher on this list, and one of the best sellers. It does everything the pricier tank models do: a 5-liter tank or faucet hookup, a 29-minute fast cycle and a 167°F Baby Care cycle for bottles and greasy pots.
After the wash, an hour of hot-air drying and 73 hours of automatic ventilation keep dishes dry and odor-free. It comes with a 1-year warranty, and EUHOMY rates it at a quiet 40 dB.

Hermitlux Slim Countertop Portable Dishwasher
- Only 14.6 in wide
- Dry-tank system
- Dual Y-head spray arms
- 5 L tank or faucet
- $$
The narrowest mini dishwasher here at just 14.6 inches wide, and the most-reviewed. It is built for the strip of counter between the sink and the stove that nothing else fits.
Its party trick is the dry-tank system: leftover heat is blown through the water tank after each cycle, so the tank does not sit damp between washes — the usual source of a musty smell. Dual Y-shaped spray arms, six programs and a separate Dry function round it out.

NOVETE Portable Countertop Dishwasher
- Fits 12 in plates (angled)
- 4 place settings
- Water level indicator
- Pitcher included
- $$
If your dinner plates are on the big side, this is the most affordable way to fit 12-inch plates. This compact NOVETE countertop dishwasher holds 4 full place settings, NOVETE says, enough for the daily dishes of a family of three or four.
A water level indicator tells you when the tank is full, and NOVETE includes a pitcher to fill it with. There is a 29-minute Speed cycle, a 167°F Baby Care cycle, a fruit basket, and 60 minutes of hot-air drying followed by 72 hours of ventilation.

HAVA R01 Countertop Dishwasher
- Pods, liquid or powder
- Fits 11 in plates (angled)
- 6 programs incl. Dry
- 950 W
- $$
The least fussy about detergent: HAVA says pods, liquid and powder all work, in about 0.2 to 0.3 oz per load. That matters more than it sounds, because several mini dishwashers only take powder or tablets.
Fourteen water ports on the spray arms clean from above and below, a Heavy/Baby Care cycle runs at 167°F, and a separate Dry mode gives an hour of hot air plus 72 hours of airflow. It fits plates up to 11 inches at an angle and uses 5 liters per wash.

BLITZHOME Wi-Fi Portable Countertop Dishwasher
- Wi-Fi app control
- 5 L tank or faucet
- 29-minute Quick cycle
- 4–6 sets (20 dishes)
- $$
The only Wi-Fi mini dishwasher here. From the app you can check where a cycle is up to and set a timer from your phone, or just use the touch panel like any other model.
Six programs include a 29-minute Quick wash, ECO and a fruit-washing cycle, and up-and-down spray arms give 360-degree coverage. BLITZHOME rates it at 4 to 6 sets of tableware, or about 20 dishes, with a basket for bowls and another for cutlery.

Magic Chef MCSCD6W5 Compact Countertop Dishwasher
- Faucet quick connect
- 6 place settings
- Rinse-aid dispenser
- 52 dB
- $$$
The closest thing to a full-size dishwasher shrunk onto a counter: a detergent dispenser and a rinse-aid dispenser, a stainless steel tub, a rack with a cup shelf and a flatware basket, and a 1 to 24 hour delay start.
Magic Chef rates it at a quiet 52 dB, and the box includes the inlet and drain hoses, faucet adapter and quick-connect. Six cycles run from Heavy to a simple Rinse.
Will It Fit? Mini Dishwasher Dimensions, Plate Sizes and Water Use
Three measurements decide whether a mini dishwasher works in your kitchen: the gap under your upper cabinets, the counter depth, and the size of your dinner plates.
| Mini dishwasher | Size (inches) | Max plate |
|---|---|---|
| Hermitlux Slim | 14.6 W × 20.1 D × 17.8 H | 10.25 in |
| AIRMSEN | 16.75 W × 16.9 D × 18.05 H | 12 in |
| EUHOMY | 16.8 × 16.7 × 18.0 H | 10.25 in |
| NOVETE | 16.9 × 16.8 × 18.1 H | 12 in |
| HAVA | 16.9 × 16.8 × 18.1 H | 11 in |
| BLACK+DECKER BCD6W | 21.5 × 21.7 × 17.2 | 10 in |
Dimensions and plate sizes are the makers’ listed figures, except the BLACK+DECKER plate size, which comes from an independent review. The BLACK+DECKER is also the heaviest at 46.2 lb. COMFEE’, BLITZHOME and Magic Chef do not list comparable figures.
Water use is small. COMFEE’ lists 6 liters per normal cycle, and AIRMSEN, EUHOMY, HAVA and Hermitlux list 5 liters (about 1.3 gallons). Wondering how that compares with the sink? Our dishwasher vs. hand washing cost guide breaks down the numbers.
Tank or Faucet: How to Set Up a Countertop Dishwasher
Every portable mini dishwasher with a tank here can also connect to a faucet, so you can switch between the two. Here is how each one works.
Tank mode: no plumbing at all
Pour 5 to 6 liters of water into the tank (most have a fill line or level indicator), load the dishes and start. Refill before every load. The dirty water still drains out through a hose into your sink.
Faucet mode: hands-free filling
The inlet hose screws onto the faucet where the aerator normally sits. If the threads do not match — common with pull-down faucets — you need an adapter. EUHOMY’s hose fits G3/4 threads.
The drain hose goes in the sink
Every countertop model drains through a hose that hangs into the sink. Place the machine next to the sink so the hose reaches without stretching.
Dishwasher detergent only
Never use hand dish soap: it makes enough suds to overflow the machine. Use a small dose of dishwasher detergent, and check your model: EUHOMY wants powder or tablets, while HAVA takes pods, liquid or powder.
Countertop dishwashers plug into a normal kitchen outlet. Plug them straight into the wall rather than an extension cord, as manuals generally instruct. Curious about the electrical side? See what size breaker a dishwasher needs and how many amps a dishwasher uses.
How to Clean a Portable Countertop Dishwasher
A small machine with a water tank gets musty faster than a full-size one if it is ignored. Cleaning a portable dishwasher takes about ten minutes a week.
After every load
Empty any water left in the tank and leave the door open a crack. Models with auto-vent or a dry-tank system, like the COMFEE’ and Hermitlux, do some of this for you.
Every week
Twist out the filter at the bottom of the tub and rinse it under the tap with a soft brush. A clogged filter is the main reason a mini dishwasher stops cleaning well.
Every month
Pull off the spray arms and clear any blocked nozzles with a toothpick. Then run the hottest cycle empty with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar to remove limescale, unless your manual says otherwise.
The tank and door seal
Wipe the tank and the rubber door seal with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry with a cloth. That is where a musty smell usually starts.

Countertop Mini Dishwasher Pros and Cons: Are They Worth It?
Are there mini dishwashers that genuinely replace washing up by hand? For small households, yes — with a few trade-offs worth knowing first.
Pro: no plumbing or renovation
Tank models need nothing but an outlet, so they suit renters, dorms, RVs and studio apartments.
Pro: hotter than hand washing
Wash cycles reach 167°F or more, far hotter than hands can stand, which matters for greasy pans and baby bottles.
Pro: small water use
The makers list 5 to 6 liters per cycle, and the sink stays free while it runs.
Con: small loads
A 4-place model holds a day of dishes for one or two people, not a family dinner with pots and pans.
Con: counter space and clearance
It takes a microwave-sized patch of counter and may not fit under your upper cabinets.
Con: refilling and long cycles
Tank models need refilling every time, and a normal cycle takes far longer than washing three plates by hand.
Our take: for one or two people who rent, or anyone without room for a built-in, a mini dishwasher is worth it. For a family of four or more, a portable dishwasher on wheels or a built-in will serve you better; see our best dishwashers under $700.
How to Choose a Mini Dishwasher
Start with your plates
Measure your dinner plates. If they are 11 inches or more, only the AIRMSEN, NOVETE and HAVA list a fit, and only at an angle.
Read capacity with a pinch of salt
Independent testing found 6-place countertop models really hold about 4 place settings. Assume less than the box says.
Tank, faucet or both
Tank models work anywhere with an outlet. 6-place models like the BLACK+DECKER and Magic Chef need a faucet every time.
Measure the clearance
Most tank models are about 18 inches tall, and EUHOMY asks for 19 inches of clearance. Check the gap under your cabinets first.
For 2 people on a budget
The EUHOMY is the most affordable here. Spend a little more on the NOVETE or HAVA if your plates are larger than 10.25 inches.
Drying matters
Auto-open doors and hot-air drying mean dishes come out ready to put away. Every pick here has one or the other except the two faucet models.

Which Mini Dishwasher Should You Buy?
The best small dishwasher for small kitchens is the COMFEE’ 6L Tank — no plumbing, the biggest tank and the hottest wash, with an auto-open door that dries properly. Want the highest-rated? The AIRMSEN, which also fits 12-inch plates.
Need room for a small family? The BLACK+DECKER BCD6W. On a budget, the EUHOMY. Squeezing into a narrow gap, the Hermitlux Slim. Big plates for less, the NOVETE.
Whichever you pick, measure the gap under your cabinets and your dinner plates first. Those two numbers rule out more mini dishwashers than any feature on the box.
